If you are part of the Riordan-verse, then you know exactly the meaning of a Godly Parent but if not let me give you a short introduction on it. So every demigod has 2 parents on mortal aka a normal human and one parent who is a god, which ironically means, Godly Parent, and in camps, you are recognized by your Godly parents, I’ll show you
Demigod: hey who’s the newbie.
Demigod 2: Here, his name Jack.
Demigod: hey Jack who’s your godly parent?
Jack: Ummm, I’m not sure.
Demigod 2: he is Undetermined.
So you see practically the first question you get asked when you get to camp is ‘who is your godly parent?’ but most kids stay undetermined meaning they don’t get claimed :(
Meaning of getting claimed
So first what is the meaning of getting claimed? Getting claimed is practically finding out who your Godly parent is, imagine there are 2 lines in line A there are 5 parents and in line B there are 5 orphans, each orphan has their biological parent in Line A but they don’t know them that exactly how demigods are so in order to find out their parent has to claim their right on them. So usually around the first few might of you being at camp, you will be claimed.
So how does claiming happen? so practically a sign respective of your godly parent will hover above your head for example if you are a son of Hephaestus a holographic hammer will appear above your head. Congrats your are officially claimed but.......... if you don’t get claimed you will be undetermined and will be staying in the Hermes cabin, where all the undetermined and Hermes kids, sorry to break it to you :p
How does knowing your godly parent help you?
When you know your godly parent, you are more aware of your strengths and weaknesses and you can use that to your advantage and win a fight, also you get to know your hidden power!!!
